Hey, look! I’m a Londoner now! Here I am posing with Tower Bridge, which is something I’m pretty sure no real Londoner would ever do… but that’s beside the point. The point here is to share with you some snaps from the past week and mark the inaugural Friday Few post.
Moving abroad has been a whirlwind. With so much of this city left to explore, my job starting soon and so many weekend trips to book, I’m not sure it will ever slow down! Because of this and because this city is filled with countless unique spots and pieces of history I could pass by at any time, I’m following the lead of many other bloggers and starting up a Friday series where I’ll share some snaps from throughout the week.
These posts will be a mix of phone and camera shots. I’m calling it the Friday “few” since I’m not sure I could ever commit to a fixed number – you never do know what you’ll find here in London! I hope you enjoy the photos and short stories that accompany them.
This week’s post is a special one since today marks one week since we arrived in London!
Scene from our “wow we live here now!” celebration dinner at the delicious Kensington Wine Rooms. They have over 40 wines available by the glass and provide pairings for each of their menu items. They also sell bottles of their wines to take home at retail prices. Andrew tried a dynamite Shiraz, and we were able to take some with us when we left for £14! Can’t wait for an occasion to open it!
Interesting art we discovered at the end of our walk along the Thames, near the Blackfriars tube stop.
The madness that was our flat when the movers dropped off all he stuff we shipped. We are slowly finding a place for everything and will be going to IKEA this weekend to find some more furniture and storage for our belongings. A flat tour will come once we’ve got a handle on the madness.
During our walk along the Thames I saw a sign for a free Pilates class at More London on Wednesday. If you know me, you know I love me some Pilates, so I got my fix with quite the view! The class was great. We are hoping to find and join a gym next week.
A great way to kick off a Friday morning – with sunshine and disco o’clock! Disco o’clock occurs when the sun perfectly hits the disco ball we keep on our coffee table and makes it feel like a party in the living room. In my Boston apartment and here, that tends to happen in the morning and it is such a fun start to the day.
