Friday Few

Friday Few

It’s amazing how different a week can be when you’re somewhere new. When I think about our second week here compared to the first, the feel is completely different. We’re getting more settled for sure, but the uprootedness we (should have) expected is becoming more apparent. Still, what a city! This place really does amaze on a daily basis.

Here are some snaps from the week:

Swans in Hyde Park, London

I took a Friday afternoon stroll in the sunshine through Hyde Park. It was just so lovely. And so bird-filled. Here are some of the birds I saw, a whole pack of swans!

Dinner at Dirty Bones in Kensington

Last weekend we enjoyed dinner at Dirty Bones in Kensington. It was hip, funky and an interesting take on an American staple. We’ll definitely be back.

We hit IKEA for the basics last weekend and got so many basics there was no room for my legs in the car! I had to sit across the seat. Here’s a picture of me in the packed car. We were lucky to have the same lovely consultant who took us flat hunting take us to IKEA. She is the best and it was so nice to see her again!

We also had a chance to visit my favorite pub from when I studied abroad, the Queen’s Arms. We visited for a special purpose – my roommate from study abroad got married on Saturday and very sadly we had to miss her beautiful day. To console myself I got an Aperol spritz at our old haunt in our old neighborhood.

Andrew had his first soccer game on Tuesday (he scored 4 goals!), so I took to Eventbrite to find myself some plans. Though the digital marketing event I attended was not as helpful as expected, I did pass this beautiful display on the way home.

Harrods truck in Knightsbridge, London

Witnessed a special delivery on a walk to Belgravia for a meeting.

Babies on FaceTime

I may be far away, but it is amazing how close FaceTime can make you feel sometimes! Got to catch up with a bunch of my favorite bald dudes (jk Dad jk!!!) this week 🙂
